Living in an IM world

AOL press release –aka survey–on IM behaviors has some notable nuggets:
- Two-thirds(66 percent) of teens and young adults (ages 13-21) say they send moreIMs than emails, up from 49 percent last year.
- Teen boys (55 percent) are more likely to have parental rules about IM use than are teen girls (50 percent).
- Onein three (33 percent) IM users send mobile IMs or text messages fromtheir cell phones at least once a week. This is an increase of 14% from2004. The figure was 10% in 2003.
Accordingto the survey, the top ten markets for instant messaging are: 1. Miami,FL; 2. New York, NY; 3. Boston, MA; 4. Chicago, IL; 5. Atlanta, GA; 6.Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX; 7. Detroit, MI; 8. San Francisco, CA; 9.Sacramento, CA; 10. Tampa, FL.
