Republicans turn on the oil industry as petrol prices soar

You knew this was going to have to come up. These earnings are disgusting.
Exxon Mobil reported net income of $9.92 billion, or $1.58 a share,in the third quarter, up from $5.68 billion, or 88 cents a share, ayear earlier. Revenue jumped 31.9 percent, to $100.7 billion, from$76.38 billion.
Hmmmm…… Isn’t this the same quarter that the United States was brutalized by hurricanes and all those rigs and refineries that were damaged caused oil to skyrocket? Now some people are calling a spade a spade. I wonder what our current political state would be like if oil companies and their interest groups were not able to donate to political groups.
At a politically charged Senate hearing, executives from Exxon Mobil, Shell, BP, Chevron and ConocoPhillips were grilled about the eye-popping size of recent earnings as consumers struggled with rising petrol prices.
