Scott McNealy of Sun at the Office
Published by James February 2nd, 2006 in Feedster, Future
Scott McNealy, the CEO of Sun Microsystems, was nice enough to come by FeedsterLand today. I have watched Sun since my days in college when I did a case study on them. I always loved how they seemed to conduct themselves but I was skeptical if it was actually real. After hearing Schwartz speak a few times, reading his blog and now meeting Scott in person, my pleasant thoughts about Sun are affirmed and they rock.
So did I drink the McNealy Juice? Absolutely, and may I please have another. Sun should be a mandatory case study in college. It really is business done right, and if you doubt it, talk to the people that work there.
Some reasons I look up to Scott.
Banned Employees from using Microsoft PowerPoint. (I don’t know if it is true, but I remember reading that and smiling)
He is an athlete and you can see his competitiveness, not necessarily techie/geek qualities. But helped lead Sun to be one of the largest tech players.
He appears like one of those guys that wears jeans because they are comfortable, not to be cool.
He has a great energy and a personality that makes you feel like you are having beers with him.
He hands out business cards.
“The network is the computer.”
To Scott: Thanks for coming.
To Sun: I look forward to the future.
